This is a traveling Construction Management position supporting project work across multiple sites. The successful candidate will move from site to site, with typical project assignments lasting about 3-9 months, and may occasionally travel to other locations for a few days to support additional projects.Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop project-specific construction management and/or commissioning management work plans;
- Perform Home office or remote pre-construction planning work before field mobilization;
- Lead and manage the site construction management and commissioning staff;
- Monitor overall construction and commissioning progress, cost, quality, scope, and safety;
- Manage and mitigate construction and commissioning work risk;
- Report construction progress and cost to the Project Manager or Owner;
- Lead and attend construction project performance review meetings;
- Plan construction process by developing schedules, phasing, and lookaheads;
- Keep track of project progress and maintain schedules;
- Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly;
- Communicate any field conflicts and notify the internal project team;
- Keep all documentation up to date for internal and external project members;
- Collaborate with the internal construction team, engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs;
- Monitor and report on project progress;
- Adhere to estimated costs and ensure the project is on budget (and is profitable)
- Supervise field staff and provide constructive feedback;
- Coordinate requests for appropriate staffing;
- Resolve on-site issues and emergencies;
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and quality standards.

Essential skills and experience:
- 7-12 years of relevant construction management experience, directly related to T&D transmission, substation construction, or industrial construction management
- Determination of staff positions and size; interviewing and selection of personnel experience
- Construction labor knowledge and labor planning experience
- Experience in establishing and effectively using project controls tools to manage a large construction project
- Understanding of a process approach to accomplishing construction management and start-up testing work
- Demonstrated client relationship-building experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others in potentially adversarial situations
- Successful and proven experience as an Industrial Construction Site Manager
- Industrial Field Experience, Trade School, or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management/Engineering preferred
- Knowledge of quality, safety, and health guidelines for sizeable industrial construction job sites
- In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
- Understanding the importance of proper phase codes and assigning time
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to lead and inspire
- OSHA 10 or 30.
- Hourly pay range from $55.00 to $85.00 (USD).
