Position Overview

The Division of Rehabilitation Services is seeking to hire a detail-oriented and organized Property and Supply Clerk III to oversee the complete physical inventory and records of equipment and buildings for the Illinois School for the Deaf. This position prepares property control reports according to department regulation and arranges equipment transfers, and relocations. Utilizes manual communication skills with individuals who are deaf and/or hard-of-hearing.

Essential Functions
  • Serves as the Property and Supply Clerk for the Illinois School for the Deaf.
  • Serves as a backup to the Storeroom Clerk in their absence, with deliveries at the Storeroom Dock.
  • Submits Major Movable Equipment updates to Springfield Warehouse for entry into the State of Illinois Accountability, Credibility, Transparency, Sustainability (ACTS) system.
  • Prepares property control reports according to department regulations.
  • Utilizes manual communication skills to sign for individuals who are deaf and/or hard-of-hearing.
  • Processes equipment transfers and equipment relocations.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
  • Requires two (2) years of clerical and bookkeeping experience.
  • Requires the ability to communicate and pass the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) at the survival plus level.
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
