Job Summary
Responsible for supervising retail pharmacy operations within assigned district. Ensures compliance with all laws, regulations, agreements, company policies, customer service and quality patient care in the pharmacy. Ensures high quality, patient centered care across pharmacies in their scope of responsibility. Accountable for driving overall pharmacy profitability and growth through review, analysis, action planning and implementation of initiatives. Accountable for overall cost control, including payroll and expense management. Directly supervises Pharmacy Managers, Pharmacy Schedulers and is accountable for pharmacy performance, clinical quality and the overall patient experience. Accountable for pharmacy talent pipeline, including leading recruitment, development, retention and performance of Pharmacy Managers, Staff Pharmacists, technicians and the Pharmacy scheduler. Serves as the gold standard for the practice of pharmacy, driving ongoing pharmacy performance across assigned geography. Owns compliance, patient safety and adherence, partnering with Sr. District Pharmacy Supervisor, District Manager and Regional Vice President to drive execution.
Operations
- Fields and resolves pharmacy communications escalated from stores; resolves
appropriate patient complaints.
- Reviews STARS reports and works with pharmacy team on quality improvement plans.
- Manages step one and step two of the STEPS approach for escalated clinical quality issues. Serves as the clinical expert in the district. Engages with Pharmacy Managers directly on clinical matters.
- Manages performance of assigned district, using feedback from Pharmacy Managers to improve performance and execution of stores.
- Works with District Manager to review district financials and KPIs to create action plans, conduct business forecasting and analysis for business planning sessions where permitted by law. Partners with Regional Vice President, Sr. District Pharmacy Supervisor and District Manager to develop pharmacy improvement plans.
- Supports the Pharmacy Talent Acquisition Partner with managing relationships with local schools, colleges and professional organizations.
- Owns the pharmacy manager talent strategy and pipeline, executing the recruitment strategy, identifying and coaching high potential pharmacy managers, and managing Performance Improvement Plans for Pharmacy Managers.
- Ensures the resolution of customer complaints for pharmacy and provide guidance on responses to customers’ special needs to the best of their ability.
- Responsible for overall pharmacy engagement. Focuses on coaching and developing Pharmacy Managers to enable execution of pharmacy responsibilities.
- Partners with District Manager as the retail pharmacy expert to cultivate skills and pharmacy acumen through guidance and feedback that enables overall execution.
- Ensures compliance with all corporate policies, state and federal laws, regulations, agreements and applicable employment laws, and is consistently fair in the treatment of all team members.
- Provides monthly quality and compliance summary to Sr. District Pharmacy Supervisor. Ensures compliance on clinical quality related events, including coaching, training, and through resolution.
- Holds regular touchpoints and development conversations with Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacy Scheduler.
- Accountable for pharmacist scheduling, payroll management and cost management.

- Participates in training and supports training efforts where necessary.
- Seeks self-development by monitoring own performance, setting high personal standards, increasing knowledge of retail, pharmacy and management fields, seeking and sharing best practices.

discussions, group meetings and in writing to keep them apprised, solicit input, answer questions and ensuring communication is open.

Basic Qualifications
- BS in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited educational institution.
- 3 years of retail pharmacy management experience
- Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the assigned geography, or willing and able to obtain state licensure within 6 months of position start date.
- Willing to obtain Immunization Certification within 6 months of hire date.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours.
- Willing to travel up to/at least 80% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
