As a new graduate Embedded Engineer I at Honeywell, you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of embedded software solutions that support innovative technology projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to help deliver high-quality embedded systems that meet project requirements and business objectives.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our St Charles, IL location on an On-site work schedule. This role is with Honeywell's Building Automation division. This group works on the life safety products sensors/devices for detectors (smoke, heat, CO2, fire, etc.), related batteries, etc. This role focuses on embedded/firmware engineering

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the design, development, and debugging of embedded software and firmware.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of software with hardware components.
  • Participate in code reviews and testing procedures to ensure software quality and reliability.

The annual base salary range for this position is $68,000/yr - $126,500/yr. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar fields.
  • Must have graduated or graduating from an accredited college or university between August 2025 and May 2026
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in software development (including internships and project work)
  • C/C embedded programming experience
  • Experience with firmware for microcontrollers or other hardware
