A well-established Agriculture company located just east of St. Louis is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their tenured and highly collaborative accounting team. Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will lead and develop a team of accounting professionals while overseeing critical accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.

This role is ideal for a strong technical accountant who also brings leadership capability and a passion for mentoring and developing others.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals

  • Oversee and actively participate in month-end and year-end close processes

  • Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP

  • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of general ledger activity

  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls

  • Support audits and collaborate cross-functionally as needed

  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting function


Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements

  • Leadership experience within an accounting function

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor staff

  • Expertise in month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required

  • CPA preferred but not required
